What will the future city look like? Where will people live? How will they get around, and what will they do for fun? Futurescape is a series of activity based installations that encourage participants to imagine future Perth. Futurescape is especially for children and designed in collaboration with Elliot Langdon
The playscape installation ran from December 2020 to March 2021 and featured numerous illustrations and activities, as well as a large number of prints from the book ‘Built’, which was written and illustrated by myself and Elliot Langdon in 2019.
As well as the vector based illustrations and puzzles, we were also asked to design the branding for the event. We chose to use simple shapes and strong colours throughout. Our invite to work on Futurescape came as a result of the illustrations produced for our book, so the style reamined some what similar.
The process of designing an installation for children, which took at look into the future, was a real joy and the creative freedom we were allowed made the project a treat to be invovled in.
